| Q |
|
What happened to the old
text version of the schedules? |
|
A |
|
The text files were an early
attempt by TriMet to provide customers with transit schedules that
could be displayed on PDAs. Displaying the schedules, however,
required third-party software that we were not able to provide free
to our customers. Furthermore, the software was primarily
designed for reading text documents and not specifically for the
display of schedules. TriMet's Handheld Schedule Viewer was
designed solely for the rapid retrieval and display of schedules. |

| Q |
|
Why aren't all the stops
on a route listed? |
|
A |
|
Individual routes may have
more than 60 stops in each direction. As with printed
schedules, there simply is not enough room available to display all
of them. The stops selected are timepoints or major transfer
points along a route, allowing customers to estimate the scheduled
times for stops between those major points. |

How do I remove schedule
data files from my PDA? |
|
A |
|
Palm OS®: To delete
files, you must first exit the TriMet application and return to the
home screen (tap the Home icon in the silkscreen area). Tap
the Menu icon in the silkscreen area, then choose “Delete...” from
the menu. From this screen, you can delete individual schedule
data files that have been installed. |
|
|
Windows Mobile™: From
the Start menu, choose “Programs” then “File Explorer.” Find
the schedule data files or maps that you have installed (likely in
your My Documents folder). Click on any file and hold down the
stylus for a few seconds until a pop-up menu appears. Choose
“Delete.” |

| Q |
|
Whenever I look at a file
it tells me it’s expired. What should I do? |
|
A |
|
When a schedule data file
expires, that means there is probably an updated version available
for download from the TriMet website. Download and install the
updated version of the file in the same way that you downloaded the
original file. If that does not solve the problem, check to
make sure that the system date and time on your PDA is set
correctly. |
